SUNWORSHIP: 9 Tips for Safe Sunscreens and Sun Protection

safe sunscreen tips with argan oil

Here comes the Sun!

We love the Sun and Know you do too!

Here are some tips from the Environmental Working Group

on Safe Sun practices and picking a Safe Sunscreen.

Tips for Finding a Safe Sun Worship and Safe Sunscreen:

  1. Don’t Get Burned:

Red and Blistered skin means too much sun and increases Skin Cancer risks.

  1. Cover Up:

Enhance your beach fashion with Hats, Shirts, Coverups, and Sarongs.   They look great and

provide the best protection from the UV rays.

  1. Enjoy Some Shade:

Umbrellas, Trees and Canopies can give you skin a rest from the Heat and harmful rays.

  1. Don’t be Fooled by High SPF:

Studies show that SPF 15-50 are best.  SPF over 50 gives a false sense of security and tempts      you to overdo the time in the Sun.

  1. Avoid Harmful Sunscreen ingredients:
  • Vitamin A
  • Oxybenzone
  • PABAs
  • Parabens
  1. Choose Mineral Sunscreens:
  • Zinc Oxide
  • Titanium Oxide
  • Avobenzone

(They are much less toxic and provide good protection)

  1. Avoid Sprays:

Creams and lotions are much better for you.

8.   Re-Apply Sunscreen:

Mineral Sunscreen must be reapplied often especially after swimming and sweating.
